“Happy Endings” explores an idealized interpretation of a concept everyone is familiar with: LOVE.
The exhibition, curated by Dry Clean Only Studio, will explore three components of love including, finding your soulmate, friends as lovers and happily-ever-after’s.Experimenting with a wide range of methods and artistic formats, the exhibition will be on display at Dry Clean Only Studio in Ridgewood, Queens and The Lodge, a gallery located in the East Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles, from February 14 through March 20.“The concept of love is as old as time but I really want to peel back the phony layers of love that dominate so much of today’s discourse,” said Sanchez, Art Director of Dry Clean Only Studio. “I’m really excited to show this exhibit in two communities that have provided so much artistic inspiration in my life.”

Tu Media Naranja by Dana Angotta
A papier-mâché kinetic sculpture, a visual ode to Plato's writings and beliefs on soulmates. With this piece Dana questions the idea of your better half by creating different orange cuttings moving through a motion, giving the audience a chance to praise love and then define it. A full orange it’s missing from the sculpture solidifying the idea that we all belong to another half.

Platonic love by River Valadez
A ceramic heart shaped table. Influenced by the work of Paul feely, River brings this piece to life by using a hand building technique.

Are we happy together? by Carlos Buel
It is a series of illustrations inspired by the film Happy Together directed by Wong kar wai where the ephemerality of contemporary relationships and their dynamics is explored through color, shape and textures. This series gives viewers the freedom to make their own reading through the cycle of love about what a relationship is and how we build those imaginaries of romanticism through the sequences that have been part of popular culture for many years.
